Elective Subjects: Any Four of the following
Political Science, Economics, Education, History, Geography, Home Science & Mathematics.

  • No candidate will be allowed to offer Home Science & History as their combination.)
  • Those students desirous to take Economics as Major Subjects at Degree Level have to take Mathematics as one of their subjects in H.S.(Arts)

Elective Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.

COURSE STRUCTURE (DEGREE LEVEL)
The College offers B.A. (Honours) & B.Sc. (Honours) under CBCS. The minimum Credit is 140 for each programme. The stream wise details of course structure are as follows:
B.A. (Honours) & B.Sc. (Honours): The B.A. and B.Sc. honours in a particular subject if a student completes minimum (14) Core Papers (with Practical) in that subjects concern two (2) Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AECC), minimum two (2) Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC), Four (4) Papers from Discipline Specific Elective and Generic Elective Papers respectively. The Courses offer are as follows:

Core Courses for B.A. Honours : (14 Papers)

  1. Assamese
  2. English
  3. Education
  4. Economics
  5. Geography (With Geoinformatics) & (Without Geoinformatics)
  6. History
  7. Political Science
  8. Home Science (It is a skill based interdisciplinary course with various vocational opportunities.
  9. Students without Home Science in HS may also apply for Honours & Non-honours.)

B.A. (Honours) & B.Sc. (Honours):

  1. Botany
  2. Chemistry
  3. Mathematics (The Deptt. Signed MOU with Sibsagar Commerce College under FEP.)
  4. Physics
  5. Zoology

Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course offer (AECC): ( 2 Papers)

  1. English Communication 1st Sem. : 1 Paper
  2. Alternative English/MlL 1st Sem. : 1 Paper
  3. Environmental Studies 2nd Sem. : 1 Paper

Skill Enhancement Course (SEC): (2 Papers)
Skill Enhancement Courses are to be selected by the Students in 3rd & 4th Semester respectively on the basis of their preference from the list of Skill Enhancement Courses offered by different Departments (details available in Dibrugarh University website www.dibru.ac.in)

Discipline Specific Elective (DSE): (4 Papers)
A student will have to select two (2) DSE Courses each in 5th & 6th Semester respectively as specified by the concerned Department.
